Full Panel Session
This session was the third of three sessions that focuses on the DOE Hanford Site located in Richland, Washington. Startup of the world's largest vitrification plant at Hanford—beginning with DFLAW—will initiate the long-anticipated treatment of approximately 56 million gallons of tank waste – the site's greatest liability. A system of interdependent projects and infrastructure must come on-line and operate successfully together in order to vitrify low-activity waste and support a 24/7 operational pace. This Hanford site-wide effort was highlighted as a major mission focus.
